My latest game Robot Reaction has been released here on Newgrounds!
It combines the chain reaction genre with wario-ware 5-second round game play all wrapped in a sci-fi robot theme. I spent the past three days working on it full time and then it was time to turn it loose to see what I could learn from that. So far the response has been pretty good and I've been getting a lot of great feedback from the players. This will help me tune this game up as well as create an even better sequel.
The chain reaction genre is one that I have loved for a long time. I've played the classics like Boom Shine and I've played the newer ones like Polygonal Fury. I like the casino like random luck quality as well as trying to figure out the subtle strategies towards maximizing your chain reaction potential. I don't believe it is total luck as you can do things that certainly stack the odds in your favor. I think the thought of 'what if this time I get lucky?' is an itch that is fun to scratch. Plus it was a great excuse to draw sci-fi city scapes and exploding robots with shrapnel so what more do you need? Hah.
Thanks for playing everyone! Your thoughts and constructive feedback are more than welcome.
*UPDATE* Thank you everyone for the Daily Second Place award! It is always encouraging to get positive motivation like that.
